The newly introduced Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, set to be featured in the Galaxy S25 smartphones, may encounter overheating challenges in these devices.

Current Insights

Preliminary evaluations of the Realme GT7 Pro, which utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, indicated significant heating during graphics-intensive benchmarks. During the 3DMark stress test, the device reached a peak temperature of 46 degrees Celsius, triggering overheating alerts. In certain instances, the phone became non-functional, limiting usage to emergency calls only.

Nevertheless, under typical conditions such as gaming and routine activities, the Realme GT7 Pro demonstrated consistent performance. These findings, however, raise alarms about the potential for similar overheating issues in the Galaxy S25 Ultra equipped with this chip. It is crucial for Samsung to enhance the cooling mechanisms to prevent overheating and maintain the reliable performance of its upcoming flagship models.
