Honor 9X Hands-on Review 2019: Superb value for money

Design, build and Display

Honor 9x, the successor to Honor 8x is the new budget offering from honor this year. The phone has an all plastic build which looks like glass. There is a slight gradient finish on the back. Regarding the display, it’s an IPS panel with Full Hd plus resolution on it. The size of the display is 6.59 inches. For the price, the display is good and has minimal flaws.

Hardware and Performance

Huawei’s own Kirin 710F (12nm) chipset is powering the Honor 9x. It is an octa core chipset and is fine for a mid-range phone. The day to day performance of Honor 9x is great. It can even handle some light gaming up to medium graphics settings. This time honor has also launched a 6 GB ram variant along with the standard 4 GB variant.

Primary and secondary camera

Honor 9x comes with a triple rear camera setup at the back. It has a 48 mega pixel primary sensor. The photos captured with this camera are high detailed and crisp. You also get an 8 Mega pixel wide angle and a 2 MP depth sensor. One highlighting feature of honor 9X is its 16 MP front motorized pop camera. The selfie results are decent and it’s a great add on.

Software and battery

Honor 9x comes preloaded with android 9 Pie and runs Huawei’s own custom user interface. Regarding the battery capacity, there is a 4000 mAh battery on board. You can easily get a day out of it even on heavy use age.

Price

To date, Honor 9x hasn’t launched in Pakistan. The expected price of Honor 9x is around $256 / 40,000 PKR for the base 4 GB ram variant.
