Apple introduced the iPhone SE 3 in 2022, with expectations for the iPhone SE 4 to follow in the first quarter of 2025. Although Apple has not officially announced this, South Korean outlet ET News has supported earlier speculations regarding enhancements to the camera system for the upcoming model.
The iPhone SE 3 is equipped with a 12MP main camera and a 7MP front camera, while the iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to feature a 48MP main camera alongside a 12MP front camera. According to industry insiders, LG Innotek will provide the camera modules for the iPhone SE 4, which are expected to mirror those of the iPhone 16, albeit without an ultrawide lens.
LG Display is providing organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels for the iPhone SE4, marking the inaugural use of OLED technology in the iPhone SE series. Traditionally, the iPhone SE has utilized a more economical liquid crystal display (LCD) panel. The iPhone SE4 features a 6.1-inch low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) OLED panel, which is the same type employed in the standard iPhone 13 model, and LG Display has already commenced mass production of this component.
